CD-102 - Diamond Dark Olive Amber w/ #12 on Reverse Sold For: $25
CD 637.9 No Embossing (Made in Uzbekistan) Green. In addition to the WOW factor of its overall appearance, this insulator has some hidden character. There's a small, screw-shaped, white, worm in the top umbrella, and an inch-long bubble at one point on the edge of the lower umbrella. Our consignor says he's been told no more of these will be shipped from where they were found in Kazakhstan. This is expected to be the last of the best color & quality examples to be made available in America. Although never put in service, this insulator has a few tiny nibbles on some of its sharp edges. Nothing large enough to be called a flake. There are a number of natural & shallow annealing lines, mostly in the base. This is a fairly large insulator, measuring 5 7/8ths inches wide at base and 8.5 inches tall. Be sure to see all four views.

Although the dome is dark, when you look through the pinhole you can still see the various shades of amber. 1" scratch on the dome, 1/2" wire groove rub, otherwise easily very near mint. A great addition to your pony collection! |
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - DIAMOND Sold For: $154 Color: Light Teal Aqua

A nice color and embossing variant for the Diamond pony collector! |
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - DIAMOND Sold For: $105 Color: Dark Yellow Amber

For the specialist, this has a "10" on the rear with a backward serifed "1". A novelty for the Diamond pony collector! |

This one is especially interesting, with a 1/4" ribbon that winds from the bottom of the pinhole up to the top of the pinhole, giving it a flash of character when compared with a typical example. 3/4" and two 3/8" areas of flaking on the base, some wire groove rub, otherwise easily very near mint. Even if you have a Midnight Blue pony, this is a "must-have" because of its amber streak! |
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - DIAMOND Sold For: $330 Color: Cornflower Blue

CD-102 - BROOKFIELD Sold For: $105 Color: Green Aqua w/ Amber Threads

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - STAR Sold For: $50 Color: Light Green w/ Black Threads
A thick black thread, most prominent on the right side, zigzags around the skirt, and up and back down the dome. Very near mint. These pronounced black threads are a less common characteristic than your more typical amber or milk swirls!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - DIAMOND Sold For: $242 Color: Milky Dark Yellow Amber
The teeny and widely spaced sharp drip points make this CD 102 Diamond uncommon! This example even has some nice milk, especially in the skirt. 3/4" base flake, some annealing lines in the threads and outer surface, otherwise very near mint. For the specialist, there is a backwards "9" on the rear. An odd piece and a "must have" for the Diamond pony collector!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - B.T.C. Sold For: $50 Color: Dark Purple
This colorful pony was produced for the Bell Telephone Company of Canada. A few wire rubs on the skirt, otherwise about very, very near mint. A different embossing for the CD 102 collector, and purple is always popular!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bill & Jill Insulators - Next Auction: Coming Soon |
SI-102 - VTS INDUSTRIAL CO. Sold For: $209 Color: Dark Ruby Red EIN: [010]
Mint! These "insulators" were a private issue made for the Village Telephone Supply Industrial Company of Salome, Arizona in the 1970's as advertising items. One can see an interesting area in the skirt where the insulator is much lighter and more transparent. A neat "go-with"!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - {Unembossed} {Canada} Sold For: $506 Color: Light Purple EIN: [060]
This is an early unembossed Canadian pony with the "mold line over the dome"! The low pinhole creates an attractive hemisphere of rich purple coloration. A significant addition for the 102 collector, especially in this very, very near mint condition!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - STAR Sold For: $55 Color: Snowy Limey Chartreuse EIN: [050]
This odd color is not a "true" Chartreuse, as it has some lime tones mixed in. 1/4" wire ridge chip and a couple of rough scratches blend in completely with the snow that is present throughout the insulator. An unusual color and a nice addition to your collection!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - STAR Sold For: $165 Color: Light Aqua EIN: [090]
This is the scarce "wedge drip point" variant. The drip points are actually wedge-shaped and nearly 3/8" wide. It is easy to count that there are 12 wedge-shaped drip points on this piece. It is reported that the base plate was reconfigured to produce these odd drip points. 3/8" base chip affects 1 drip point. The drip points are often damaged and the drips on this example fared better than many. A nice example of this unusual drip point variant!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - STAR Sold For: $286 Color: Yellow Olive Green EIN: [050]
The interesting coloration of this insulator shows areas of amber blending throughout the piece. This colorful Star, in great condition, will add some extra pizzazz to your Star or pony collection!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - DIAMOND Sold For: $1,155 Color: Purple/Blue Two Tone EIN: [060]
Super rare and desirable! Less than a handful of these are known. A medium purple color is infused with patches of blue all around the insulator, an effect unusual for a two-tone insulator. Have you seen one? Here is your chance to own one. Two 3/8" base flakes and an open bubble, otherwise about very near mint. A keystone jewel for the advanced pony collection!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - [Bar] // [Bar] Sold For: $165 Color: Swirled Amber/Teal Two-Tone EIN: [050]
This insulator is mostly swirled amber on a teal base, but there is one patch about 1" square that is just teal! Some wire rubbing, otherwise very near mint. A contrasting example to the solid teal units, as well as the completely swirled amber units!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - PATENT - OTHER Sold For: $2,090 Color: Purple EIN: [030]
What a stunning color! The shape of the "mini blob tops" is really similar to the larger CD 126, and one knows how desirable the purple CD 126 is! This example is quite rare as well. Although the embossing is very weak, one can see that it is not embossed "BROOKFIELD", but it is obviously a Brookfield product due to the plethora of patents on the crown. 3/4" area of base flaking, 1/8" dome ding, 1/2" scuff on the thick mold line on the dome, otherwise about very near mint. [UPDATE: added view 3 showing a larger ding and the flaking on the base] If you are lucky to have a CD 126 in Purple, this will be an excellent companion. In any case, this is still a rare and colorful gem to add to your Brookfield pony collection!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - PATENT - OTHER Sold For: $275 Color: Yellow Green EIN: [040]
An uncommon and desirable coloration! Although not embossed "BROOKFIELD", the trio of patent dates indicate it is indeed a Brookfield product. Aside from a 1/4" flake on the base, this example is easily very near mint. A standout pony!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - N.W.& B.I.T.CO. Sold For: $715 Color: Ice Purple EIN: [020]
This insulator's purple coloration is more intense in the dome as it is amplified by the low pinhole. One can also see a milky worm coming up from the wire ridge and running across the dome. 1/2" wire ridge chip near the left mold line, otherwise easily very near mint. The CD 102 is the only style with the N.W. & B.I.T. CO. embossing and was produced for the New Westminster and Burrard Inlet Telephone Company. Most of these have been found in limited areas around Vancouver, BC, and since they are relatively difficult to acquire, now's your chance! An uncommon embossing that will fit into your pony collection!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - DIAMOND Sold For: $440 Color: Midnight Blue EIN: [060]
What a stunning color! The nice rich coloration of this insulator easily transmits light. Midnight Blue examples are less commonly found than the Teal Blue examples. Some scuffing, very near mint. A rich and distinctive blue color!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - DIAMOND Sold For: $44 Color: Light Gray Green EIN: [060]
This lighter shade will contrast well with your darker Diamond ponies! Very near mint. Add this to expand your depth of color!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - DIAMOND Sold For: $352 Color: Olive Mustard Yellow EIN: [060]
This example leans towards Mustard Yellow, but the olive tones make it slightly different. Easily very near mint. Surely this will fit into your colorful pony lineup!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - DIAMOND Sold For: $275 Color: Teal Blue EIN: [060]
The color "Teal" gets its name from the colored area around the eyes of the common teal, a member of the duck family. The first written use of "Teal" as a color name in English was in 1917. Some wire ridge scuffing. Clean and shiny with great clarity to the glass!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - DIAMOND Sold For: $660 Color: "Mustard" EIN: [060]
Similar to the Cobalt Blue signals, everybody must have one! There may be some faint olive tones. This very nice example has just some scuffing around the wire ridges and groove. Always a popular and desirable color!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - BROOKFIELD Sold For: $61 Color: Milky Jade Aqua EIN: [030]
This color looks similar to Jade Vaseline glass, but one can see pronounced milky streaks. This is the sharp drip point variant and most of the drip points are chipped; otherwise the piece is easily very near mint. See lot 15 for its smooth base counterpart and lot 32 for a "milky" Brookfield toll. These jade-like Brookfields are quite uncommon and desirable. A great piece to add to your collection!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - BROOKFIELD Sold For: $61 Color: Aqua w/ Amber Swirls EIN: [030]
There are various amber swirls in the glass, with a distinct ribbon that goes from the skirt up to the top of the pinhole and back down again on the other side. Amber can be seen from all angles. Some drip point chipping and a faint haze on some of the skirt, otherwise about very near mint. A couple of 1/8" rocks in the middle of the swirl add extra interest. For a great companion, see the "toll" in lot 8. These swirly Brookfields are in quite high demand, so grab this while you can!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - BROOKFIELD Sold For: $94 Color: Milky Deep Aqua EIN: [020]
Distinct milky waves punctuate this deeper aqua insulator, making it a great companion for the variant with drip points in lot 16. 1/4" square scuff on the dome, otherwise about very near mint. For another "milky" Brookfield insulator, see lot 32. This pony will be a desirable addition to your collection!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - BROOKFIELD Sold For: $1,320 Color: Blue w/ Huge Bubbles EIN: [030]
BUBBLES! BUBBLES! BUBBLES! The first bubble is completely enclosed and is nearly 2" long and 3/4" tall. The second is also enclosed and is 3/4" wide and 1" tall. A pocket of trapped air pressed into the skirt, leaving a crater of thinner glass which is over 3" long and 1" tall. Not to be outdone, there are several large bubbles in the dome, up to 1/2" long, and a nice complement of smaller ones as you can see in view 4. If you bother to look, there is some chipping on the drip points, otherwise the piece is very, very near mint. The insulator would be impressive with just the bubbles in the dome, but the presence of the three other bubbles takes it to a totally new height!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - BROOKFIELD Sold For: $61 Color: Green EIN: [030]
An unusually crude example with the skirt significantly out of round and the drip points rotated about 90 degrees so they are pointing towards the pin. Clearly, these would not be effective as drip points in the typical sense. Very, very near mint. The odd drip point configuration and the nice green color make this insulator stand out from the more typical aqua units!

SI-102 - VTS INDUSTRIAL CO. Sold For: $132 Color: Ruby Red
Very, very near mint. These "insulators" were a private issue made for the Village Telephone Supply Industrial Company of Salome, Arizona in the 1970s as advertising items. Some of the Ruby Red examples have milk in the skirt and this one has an abundance of it. A neat "go-with"!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

SI-102 - VTS INDUSTRIAL CO. Sold For: $3,080 Color: Peacock Blue
Very, very near mint. Private issue "insulators" were made for the Village Telephone Supply Industrial Company of Salome, Arizona in the 1970s as advertising items. 500 were produced in Ruby Red. Only 100 were produced in Peacock Blue. Combine the rarity with the clarity of the glass and you will see why the Peacock Blue units are so popular! These seldom come up for sale, so don't pass this opportunity by!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - STAR Sold For: $308 Color: Chartreuse
What a stunning color! Three 1/4" ridge flakes otherwise about very near mint. A very desirable color for this piece; grab this "STAR" now!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - DIAMOND Sold For: $1,155 Color: "Mustard Yellow"
Very slight olive tones are present in this primarily Mustard Yellow insulator. Two 1/4" base flakes, otherwise about very, very near mint. Add this to your Diamond lineup!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - DIAMOND Sold For: $66 Color: Milky Light Green w/ Amber Patches
There's an attractive amber area around the wire ridge and in the dome. While these milky pieces aren't uncommon, finding one with amber is quite unusual. Two 1/4" flakes on the base, otherwise very, very near mint! Boldly embossed with a large bar and diamond on the front and rear. A different variation for the pony collector!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - DIAMOND Sold For: $209 Color: Teal Blue
The color "Teal" gets its name from the colored area around the eyes of the common teal, a member of the duck family. The first written use of "Teal" as a color name in English was in 1917. 1/4" wire ridge flake, 1 1/2" base chip/flake, a stress line up the side at the mold line. UPDATE: added view 3 to show the base. Compare this to the duck and see if it matches!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - DIAMOND Sold For: $83 Color: Milky Light Aqua
Heavy veils of milk wrap around the entire insulator, giving it a jade-like appearance. Very, very near mint. Looks great base-lit and it will glow when you put it on top of your "night light"!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - DIAMOND Sold For: $88 Color: Icy Gray w/ Purple and Milk Swirls
Although fairly common with milk swirls, this example has the added pizzazz of some purple swirls in the dome and a low pinhole which accentuates them. The arc one sees in the dome is actually veils of milk across the top of the pinhole and not the top of the pinhole itself. The diamond and bar are large and boldly embossed. An icy treat for your Diamond collection!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - BROOKFIELD Sold For: $66 Color: Translucent Green w/ Amber
An interesting translucent effect without any milk swirls! A number of chipped and slivered drip points. Patches of amber can be seen throughout the insulator. In addition, there is a bit of snow. A lot of character in this unusual Brookfield pony!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

SI-102 - VTS INDUSTRIAL // NUMBER 8 Sold For: $231 Color: Ruby Red
Peacock Blue and Ruby Red private issue "insulators" were made for the Village Telephone Supply Industrial Company of Salome, Arizona in the 1970's as advertising items. Most of the Ruby Red examples are very dark in color, nearly blackglass, as seen in view 3, and it's hard to see their true color. This one is much lighter than typically encountered and one can see the glowing Ruby Red color with the usual backlighting. Worth a premium over the very dark shades. Grab this ruby gem in fantastic very, very near mint condition now!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bill & Jill Insulators - Next Auction: Coming Soon |
SI-102 - VTS INDUSTRIAL // NUMBER 8 Sold For: $187 Color: Ruby Red
Mint! One can see a couple of ribbons of milk going up from the base towards the dome. Peacock blue and ruby red private issue "insulators" were made for the Village Telephone Supply Industrial Company of Salome, Arizona in the 1970's as advertising items. 500 were produced in dark ruby red. If you want an example of true Ruby Red glass, this is the one, and the milky ribbons make this attractive piece even better!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - {Unembossed} {Canada} Sold For: $77 Color: Light Blue w/ Milk
[050] {Sharp drip points} Two 3/8" areas of minor base flaking, otherwise easily very near mint. This is a real oddball piece. The skirt is thick and tapers more than usual. The insulator is shorter than a typical CD 102 and the threads go nearly to the base. The drip points tip inward. Fantastic dome glass! Milk wisps and a nice bubble add extra character!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - STAR Sold For: $231 Color: Chartreuse
1/8" flake on the skirt, otherwise very, very near mint. This "blob top" style has a taller dome (from the wire ridge up) than the standard style. This makes its appearance more unique and desirable. Coupled with the color and condition you can't get better than this!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - SO.MASS.TEL.CO. Sold For: $297 Color: Light Aqua
Produced for the Southern Massachusetts Telephone Company. This is a tough embossing, especially in this easily very near mint condition; CD 102 collectors, embossing collectors and New England area glass collectors take note!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - SO.MASS.TEL.CO. Sold For: $853 Color: Gray Tint
A little flake on the "C" but the letter is still present, otherwise about very, very near mint. Most people would consider this clear, especially for older glass, but some might see a very faint gray tint. Either way, it's an extremely uncommon color for this style. Produced for the Southern Massachusetts Telephone Company. Combine the uncommon embossing, the color and the wonderful condition and this piece should "clearly" be of significant interest to the collector of New England glass or CD 102s.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - PATENT - OTHER Sold For: $94 Color: Light Limey Apple Green
3/8" wire ridge chip. This is a bit of an odd color, where one can also see hints of amber in the skirt. A nice pony, for sure!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - MONTREAL Sold For: $94 Color: Dark Purple
1/4" ding/flake near the left mold line. (F-Skirt) ['B.T.C.' blotted out] / MONTREAL. The color of this insulator is a nice, rich shape of purple that transmits light easily but shows off its color well.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - BROOKFIELD Sold For: $220 Color: Swirled Dark Olive Amber
Easily very near mint. One can see some nice "tiger striping" in the skirt with vertical darker amber bands. Brookfields with this coloration are very popular and their prices are rising!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - B.T.Co. OF CAN. / [Diamond] Sold For: $253 Color: Dark Purple w/ Milk Swirls
Great condition with just a 1/8" flake on the rear wire ridge. When base lit, one can see significant milky swirls. A very attractive piece!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - B.G.M.CO. Sold For: $94 Color: Purple
Easily very near mint. The Baltimore Glass Manufacturing Company is believed to have produced their last insulators in 1903. The majority of the insulators produced were purple. See lot 12 for a lighter example. The pair would look great together on your shelf!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - B.G.M.CO. Sold For: $72 Color: Light Purple
1/8" flake on the front skirt, otherwise very, very near mint. The Baltimore Glass Manufacturing Company was formed in 1896. The "pony" is the most affordable of these relatively scarce insulators. See lot 13 for a darker example, and put them next to each other on your shelf!

Open Wire - Visit |
CD-102 - diamond Sold For: $1,760 Color: Milky mustard yellow.
This little diamond pony has a strong infusion of milky impurities throughout the striking yellow mustard glass. These milk impurities appear to also contain a very fine measure of dark carbon, which stands out quite well with back lighting. Of course, if you want to enjoy the full impact of the milk swirling, base lighting (View 1) is the absolute best method.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - diamond Sold For: $385 Color: Teal blue/midnight.
This appears to be one of the 'tweener' teal blue shades with a touch of midnight blue. This color can appear slightly different based on lighting sources: View 1 & View 2 are with indoor backlighting; View 3 is with direct sunlight. This should fit in well with a multiple lineup of ponies transitioning from teal blue to midnight.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - diamond Sold For: $110 Color: Icey green w/bubbly milky carbon swirls.
An interesting little pony that contains most of its significant impurities in the dome. The impurities consist of milky and black speckled carbon swirls and tiny champagne bubbles. Even the surface of the dome has some crudity, with folds and creases. This all contrasts nicely with the remainder of the insulator's body that is mostly void of these impurities. View 1 is with outdoor direct lighting; View 2 & View 3 indoor back lighting; View 4 indoor base lighting.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - diamond Sold For: $303 Color: Rich teal green.
A nice, rich shade of teal green. These appear to be less plentiful than the mustard diamond ponies, yet they remain quite affordable. A must for any colorful pony lineup.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - diamond (set of 4) Sold For: $209 Color: Dark olive green.
Set of four diamond ponies that were most likely used as insulators on a chair. 'Chair-leg insulators' are found on occasion, but rarely as an original set and with this much wear from years of usage. One of the ponies in this set has a deeper pinhole, which resulted in the dome wearing completely through! Possibly from a telegrapher or operator's chair? As a group, these make a great conversation piece.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - W. BROOKFIELD Sold For: $143 Color: Lime Green
[150] Shop number 4. 1/4" flake on the front wire ridge, otherwise easily very near mint. A nice color with crisp bold embossing.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - SO. MASS. TEL. CO. Sold For: $220 Color: Light Aqua
Several little dome pings and a 1/4" base flake. Produced for the Southern Massachusetts Telephone Company. Some nice milk swirls meander up and down around the pinhole on the front side of the insulator. This is a tough embossing; CD 102 collectors, embossing collectors and New England area glass collectors take note!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - PAT / JAN 25TH 1870 Sold For: $264 Color: Light Green Chartreuse
[030] 1/4" open bubble on the base and a little area of roughness on the wire groove, neither of which are very significant when you consider the color, which is very difficult to describe. It is "a shade of green" but with Chartreuse overtones and perhaps some yellow green as well. Nice bold embossing!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - DIAMOND Sold For: $121 Color: Light Green
[187] Great condition with neat folds and creases in the glass, especially on the dome. Unlisted color for this embossing, and a nice addition for the specialty collector.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - DIAMOND Sold For: $110 Color: Light Purple
Small annealing line on the dome, minor skirt scuffing on the right front and left rear as can be seen in the photo. The diamond logo is boldly embossed. This attractive medium shade of purple contrasts well with the royal purples in your pony line up.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - DIAMOND Sold For: $66 Color: Minty Green
Outstanding condition! This little pony has a slightly different tint than your basic green, adding some color highlights to your collection.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - DIAMOND Sold For: $187 Color: Brown Amber w/ Bubbles
Crudely formed with an enclosed 1/2" bubble in the skirt, a large bubble about 1/2" x 1 1/2" partially open to the pinhole, and several other bubbles around the insulator which can be seen both from the front and the rear. A nice character piece!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - DIAMOND Sold For: $1,540 Color: True Mustard
A little rubbing on the rear wire ridge, easily very near mint. "Mustard" insulators are seeing a great surge in popularity recently, and one very similar to this piece soared in our last auction to nearly $2,500! Often Mustard pieces have some olive tones, but this piece has none. As is typical with Mustard ponies, there is some milky swirling present, which in the thicker dome area appears more translucent. It is interesting to note that this example has the same dimpled texture on the dome as the piece in our previous auction. Could they be brothers? A "must-have" for the pony collector!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - CGI Co Sold For: $495 Color: Light lemon lime yellow.
A rather unique little California pony that retains an unusual amount of extruded glass at the mold line. The mold was obviously improperly secured prior to the glass pour, which allowed the extrusion, creating the thin 'fins' of glass at the mold line. We are normally very hesitant to offer the more common yellow California CD styles in our auctions. This is due to the ease of 'creating' them by exposing purple shades to high thermal sources. It can be very difficult at times to identify the authentic yellows from the heated ones. In this case, it is quite apparent that this pony was never placed in service, at least with a wire attached, otherwise the glass 'fins' would have been broken away. With no sun exposure, it did not transform to the typical purple shades, but remained this gorgeous yellow shade, with maybe a hint of green. If you are going to add a yellow California to your collection, why not one that provides you with the strong assurance of being original and unaltered?

SI-102 - VTS INDUSTRIAL // NUMBER 8 {CD 102 style} Sold For: $506 Color: Bright Rich Peacock Blue
Two fine factory annealing lines in the threads and a 1/8" base flake, about very, very near mint. Peacock blue and ruby red private issue "insulators" were made for the Village Telephone Supply Industrial Company of Salome, Arizona in the 1970's as advertising items. 500 were produced in dark ruby red and only 100 were produced in peacock blue. The low pinhole brings out the rich color. Combine the rarity with the clarity of the glass and you will see why the peacock blue units are much more sought after! These seldom come up for sale, so don't pass this opportunity by!

CD-102 - {Unembossed} {Canada} Sold For: $121 Color: Blue
[050] {Sharp drip points} About very near mint. This is a real oddball piece. The skirt tapers more than usual, and the insulator is not as tall as a typical CD 102. The skirt is easily over 1/2" thick and the threads go right to the base. Fantastic dome glass! Perhaps the oddest feature is that the drip points are distorted and turned inward, forming a spiral swirl! This could be quite an underrated piece; you can decide!

CD-102 - {Unembossed Pennycuick} Sold For: $121 Color: Fizzy Blue Aqua
Very near mint. This insulator is thick, heavy, and larger than your typical CD 102. It's filled with lots of bubbles. This insulator was found in the Klondike by the curator of Alaska's Matanuska-Susitna Valley's Trapper Creek Museum. It was discovered near the ruins of an old telephone line. The curator commented: "This is a great addition to any collection for its Klondike historical value and its authenticity."

CD-102 - STAR Sold For: $94 Color: Light Aqua
{Wedge drip points} 3 sheared off drip points, otherwise very good condition. This style of drip points is unusual and is only found on a few STAR insulators. It appears that the insulator was originally intended to have regular sharp drip points, but the mold was later re-worked. Wedge-dripped ponies are known to exist with the star pointing both up and down.

CD-102 - STAR Sold For: $688 Color: Yellow Olive Green
Potstone in the dome causes a factory bruise with 1" radiating stress lines. Update: The apparent "small star" on the rear is just an image of the star in the front. This is not the [100] embossing. A nice well-saturated color for your STAR pony lineup!

CD-102 - STAR Sold For: $176 Color: Blue w/ "Tadpole"
Easily grades very near mint. You can't help but notice the "tadpole" consisting of a dark blob about 1/8" in diameter with a long tail that winds to the left of the skirt, then up and over the dome and down part of the other side. To make this piece more unique, this is the less common variant with the large star on the front and the much smaller star on the back. Great character!

| Wire rubbing around the wire groove and an area of heavier rubbing to the left side. Natural wear from decades of use. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - STAR Sold For: $121 Color: Light Aqua
{Wedge drip points} A small chip removes half of one drip, a couple of dings. Typical factory roughness on the other drip points. Wedge dripped ponies are getting harder to find and are normally heavily damaged. This is an exception due to its great condition, so now's your chance to acquire one!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - STAR Sold For: $352 Color: Chartreuse
Crudely formed, especially around the base where there is some factory roughness and an annealing line. Short stress line in the wire ridge. A "chubby" thick and heavy mold variation; put it next to another STAR pony on your shelf to really see the difference!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - STAR Sold For: $132 Color: Light Green Aqua w/ "Dualing Bubbles"
1" stress line from base at mold line. In front there is a 1" bubble just to the left of the Star, and in the rear a 3/4" bubble just to the right of the Star! Distinctive, larger bubbles are rarely seen in STAR insulators, and these "Dualing Bubbles" are in a class by themselves!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - N.W. & B.I.T. CO. Sold For: $352 Color: Purple Tint
Several flakes here and there, a few annealing lines, including one across the top of the dome. One can see traces of blotted out embossing on the rear skirt. The CD 102 is the only style with the N.W. & B.I.T. CO. embossing. This nearly clear example contrasts well with lot 17 and the two together would make an awesome pair!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - N.W. & B.I.T. CO. Sold For: $506 Color: Medium Purple
1/2" base flake as can be seen in the photo, 1/4" bruise on the dome, otherwise at least very near mint. Contrasts well with lot 16. Good dome glass! Produced for the New Westminster and Burard Inlet Telephone Company. Most of these have been found in limited areas around Vancouver, BC, and since they are relatively difficult to acquire, now's your chance!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - DIAMOND Sold For: $963 Color: Mustard Yellow
Very near mint. One can see a faint wire rub diagonally across the wire ridges. The diamond is large and bold. One of the more distinctive colors; this would make a great addition to a pony, Canadian, CD, or even color collection!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - DIAMOND Sold For: $418 Color: Midnight Blue
This was likely used as a chair leg insulator, as the dome is flat from wear as can be seen in view 3. Very near mint overall. These insulators were put on the legs of chairs in fire towers and telegraph offices to isolate them from the ground. What a fantastic color and a great piece of history!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - DIAMOND Sold For: $297 Color: Teal Green
Excellent condition. A thin factory glass crease can be seen in the front. Strong teal overtones add good depth of color to this Canadian pony. It is simply embossed with a diamond in the front. A great "tweener" color for your pony lineup!

Bill & Jill Insulators - Next Auction: Coming Soon |
CD-102 - style VTS INDUSTRIAL CO. Sold For: $578 Color: Bright Glowing Peacock Blue
Mint! Peacock blue and ruby red private issue "insulators" were made for the Village Telephone Supply Industrial Company of Salome, Arizona in the 1970's as advertising items. 500 were produced in dark ruby red and only 100 were produced in peacock. Combine the rarity with the clarity of the glass and you will see why the peacock units are much more sought after! These seldom come up for sale, so don't pass this opportunity by! (#0231)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - DIAMOND Sold For: $578 Color: Deep Rich Blue
A few areas of thin base flakes. A thin factory annealing line in the threads in the rear. This is somewhat of a "tweener" color, as the blue is very well-saturated and a stronger coloration than the midnight blue ponies. A variety of Diamond ponies were widely used to link rural farm communities on the prairies of Canada, and this color is a great example! (#0119)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - DIAMOND Sold For: $715 Color: Mustard Yellow w/ Milk Swirls
1/2" base flake, otherwise at least very near mint. One can see micro-bubble trails, most prominent in the rear, creating the appearance of delicate milk swirls, and giving a bit of a translucent appearance. Many Diamond ponies were found on local telephone lines throughout western Canada. (#0984)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - Bar Bar Sold For: $396 Color: Midnight Blue w/ Amber Highlights
Small 1/4" flake on the base, otherwise very very near mint. There are amber streaks in the skirt, and the amber is primarily concentrated in the dome, giving a teal blue/midnight blue two tone effect. This pony will fit in nicely with the other deep blue shades in which the Diamonds and "Bar Bars" are found! (#0416)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - {Unembossed} Sold For: $220 Color: Light Green Aqua
A little flaking at the base of the skirt and on the sharp inner edge of the inside of the skirt, areas of light haze and small dings. An odd variant with Mold Line Over Dome (MLOD) and Mold Line Over Base (MLOB). Typically an MLOB insulator has a rounded base (RB), but this example has a smooth base (SB)! An interesting piece for the CD 102 specialist, with great dome glass! (#517)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - [Vertical bar] {Canada} Sold For: $88 Color: Light Cornflower Blue w/ Purple Swirling
1 1/2" thin base flake that rises up 1/16" in one area into the skirt, some factory annealing fissures in the pinhole. Pronounced purple swirling, especially in the dome, brings this piece alive! (#547)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - STAR Sold For: $165 Color: Yellow Olive Green
About factory mint, an annealing line runs from the wire groove area down to the skirt as can be seen in the photo. This Star, with a deep, rich olive hue, will surely Star in your pony lineup! (#647)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - DIAMOND Sold For: $242 Color: Tealy Green
Very good condition; a factory molding imperfection can be seen to the lower left of the diamond. A beautiful deep green color approaching "Teal Green" for the Diamond collector! (#409)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-102 - DIAMOND Sold For: $440 Color: Deep Teal Blue
A couple of base flakes, otherwise very good condition. This "Deep Teal Blue" pony is leaning heavily towards Midnight Blue and is sure to please! (#01421)
