CD-104 - NATIONAL INSULATOR CO. Sold For: $253 Color: Bright Blue
| Base-embossed "Nationals" are rarely encountered. There are only four CD's embossed with "NATIONAL INSULATOR CO." and this is the second most difficult to acquire, only surpassed in rarity by the CD 110.6 "Large Corkscrew" offered in lot 5. We are also offering the CD 110.5 "Baby Corkscrew" in lot 21. A factory imperfection on the base affects one digit. [UPDATE: an inclusion and a fold in the glass as can be seen in view 3 affect a little of the "1".] An area of pinging above the wire ridge about 1/2" tall and halfway around the circumference of the insulator, all on the rear. This insulator will be a bright, almost glowing, addition to your collection! |

CD-104 - {Unembossed Pennycuick} Sold For: $633 Color: Dark Yellow Green EIN: [030]
| What a stunning, rich color! This odd-looking CD 104 is your classic New England Pennycuick. The unusual shape has sides that are straight but tapered like a cone. There's a point at the top of the pinhole and sharp, saw-tooth threads. 3/8" base flake and ridge flake, otherwise about very near mint. Pair this with the Dark Green CD 134 in lot 58. While some examples of the unembossed Pennycuick CD 104s are found with a "Continuous Drip" (CD) base, this insulator has a "Smooth Base" (SB). What a colorful example! |

An interesting profile where the sides of the skirt are nearly straight. The low pinhole creates a large area of glass, accentuating the color. A beautiful insulator! |

CD-104 - {Pennycuick style} Sold For: $253 Color: "Green"
| {Pennycuick style} 1/8" and 1/4" base flake, 1/8" dome ding, otherwise very, very near mint. A strange "hole" about 1/8" by 1/2" with an associated 1" stress line on the dome appears to be an open bubble. The color is at the very end of the scale where Green Aqua becomes Green. This example is made of typical crude Pennycuick type glass and is much taller than your typical CD 104! |
