CD-106 - HEMINGRAY Sold For: $297 Color: Ice Aqua
| This insulator has the early "script" style embossing. Note the embossing error, where the "H" is very clearly missing its middle bar. Since these units were all engraved by hand, you can imagine it being very easy for someone to forget to finish off a letter. A nice addition to your Hemi No 9 collection, especially in this very near mint condition! |

CD-106 - HEMINGRAY Sold For: $963 Color: Deep Green

A couple in our past auctions soared to over $1,000. 4-drip-point-wide flake/chip in the front, 1/4" factory stress bruise in the rear, 3/8" flakes on the left lower wire ridge and upper wire ridge. CD 106s have been and remain quite collectible and sought after, and this insulator is stunning! |

CD-106 - {Unembossed Zicme} {Colombia} Sold For: $187 Color: Teal w/ Red Streaks
| There are "Blood Red" swirls all around the insulator, including a large patch on the dome! This was likely hit by lightning as there is a 1" bruise on the top and bottom ridge, and a fracture that starts there and runs over the dome. 1/2" chip on the rear wire ridge, and another fracture that runs around the bottom of the wire groove. Crude texture under the wire ridge and some silver streaks that are near the outside of the glass. A really interesting example for a number of specialty collections! |
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-106 - STAR Sold For: $66 Color: Green w/ Amber Blending
| This insulator has an interesting blend of amber throughout the insulator, and it is more pronounced in the dome glass. 1/2" wire ridge bruise on the rear, 1/4" base flake on the front. This has lots more character than your standard Green Star pony! |

CD-106 - HEMINGRAY Sold For: $50 Color: Ice Jade Green Milk
| This insulator is not a true Jade, but there is some translucence to it. Several flakes at the right mold line, a few chipped drip points and a few with open bubbles. A little bit of a different example! |

Fair condition with a 1/2 flake on the front base and a faint 1/2 bruise on the rear lower wire ridge. |

CD-106 - W.G.M.CO. Sold For: $1,595 Color: Peachy Straw
| The consignor writes: "In 1986 a friend and I went into the abandoned mining Newhouse supply tunnel. The construction of the tunnel started in 1893 and was done in 1910, bringing it into WGMCo era. The name of the tunnel was later changed to the Argo tunnel. I went in 1,800 feet to recover what I found in some old sepia photos, CD 106 WGMCo's attached to iron brackets. In these photos one of them showed that it was nearly colorless and had the concave signature shape of a WGMCo. Going in as far as the cave-ins would allow, we recovered seven of them. Other than the one I kept, my friend who went into the abandoned Newhouse tunnel with me, sold me his this spring. In collecting rare Denvers these are considered extremely rare." These light-colored W.G.M. insulators are some of the hardest colors to acquire, and they are very desirable! 1/4" base flake, otherwise easily very near mint. A great color with a great historical pedigree! |
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-106 - HEMINGRAY Sold For: $198 Color: Purple/Sage Green Two Tone
| This insulator probably has more purple coloration, especially in the dome, where one can see some nice swirling. It will be a colorful addition to your collection, especially in this very, very near mint condition, and will contrast well with the examples in lot 22 and lot 23. |
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-106 - HEMINGRAY Sold For: $176 Color: Gray Blue
| An unusual color for a Hemingray No 9 pony, and a great companion to lot 24. This more unique color will fit in well in your lineup, especially in this very near mint condition! |
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-106 - HEMINGRAY Sold For: $99 Color: Lilac w/ Amber Streaks
| An interesting color combination with purple swirling in the dome and amber streaks starting at the right mold line and running up to the top of the pinhole. Streaks also appear in an area at the left mold line. 4 sheared drip points in the front, otherwise easily very near mint. An unusual color with a twist that should be of special interest to the Hemingray No 9 collector! |

| This attractive insulator has the early "prism style" embossing. 3 missing drip points, 1/2" flake/chip on the left front, 1/4" ding on the wire groove, otherwise very near mint. These green examples are hard to come by, and this piece is a little different, with the fizz enhancing the color even more! |
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-106 - HEMINGRAY Sold For: $39 Color: Milky Aqua
| There is nice milk swirling in some areas and more dense milk in other areas, giving a jade-like appearance. These are less common and more visually interesting than their solid jade counterparts. A few chipped drip points, otherwise easily very near mint. An attractive addition to your Hemingray No 9 collection! |
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-106 - HEMINGRAY Sold For: $39 Color: Fizzy Aqua
| Old "prism style" embossing with the classic "loopy 2." Fizz throughout the insulator gives it a bit of a translucent appearance. 3 sheared off drip points on the rear, otherwise very near mint. This is the embossing variant where the "A" in "MAY" is missing the middle bar, and it may be a colorful addition to fill a hole in your collection! |

The predominant amber swirl starts in the skirt in the front, continues up, and wraps around the dome. What an attractive addition to your Hemingray or CD 106 lineup! |
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-106 - HEMINGRAY Sold For: $209 Color: Purple/Sage Green Two Tone EIN: [250]

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-106 - W.G.M.CO. Sold For: $462 Color: Dark Straw
| Purple is a very desirable color when it comes to many insulators. When it comes to W.G.M. examples, Purple is more common and Straw is much more difficult to acquire. This is quite a desirable darker example, especially in very near mint condition. Add this to your "Denver" collection! |
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-106 - O.V.G.CO. Sold For: $61 Color: Light Blue w/ Large Bubbles
| Can you say "bubbles"? A pronounced grouping of bubbles surrounds the insulator in the wire groove area. Update: Base-lit photo in view 1 was added. In the process of taking that, this showed a lot of "milk" (translucence). When studied more there appears to be some opaque material around a section of the threads, almost like you melted a marshmallow inside! View 4 shows this although the photo doesn't highlight it as clearly. Quite a bit of character, especially in very near mint condition. It's hard to estimate the value; what's it worth to you? |

SI-106 - HEMINGRAY Sold For: $396 Color: Clear w/ Pyroglaze Lettering
| An amazing salesman's sample that is a full size CD 106! Tri-colored pyroglaze lettering reads on the front in yellow letters on a dark blue background "HEMINGRAY / ANOTHER [OI logo] PRODUCT". On the rear, dark blue script lettering on a yellow background reads "World standard / since 1870". A ding on the crown and a little speck missing on the yellow [OI logo] as seen in the photo. What is especially interesting is that this does not have any typical embossing, but it was made from a mold that was not engraved! Probably made in the late 1930's when Owens-Illinois purchased Hemingray. Only a handful are known so don't let this unique piece slip away! |

CD-106 - HEMINGRAY / No 9 Sold For: $66 Color: Minty Light Green Aqua

CD-106 - HEMINGRAY / No 9 Sold For: $242 Color: Purple Two-Tone
| Four chipped drip points, otherwise very, very near mint. A nice medium shade of purple where one can see some wisps of darker purple in the dome and lighter wisps in the skirt, giving this a bit of a two-tone effect. One can also see a large area of clear glass in the rear! See lot 28 for a similar color in a CD 113. Another popular and collectable piece! |

CD-106 - HEMINGRAY / No 9 Sold For: $165 Color: Sage/Purple
| About a 1" area of nibbling on the base in the rear and a 1/4" flake on the right side of the wire ridge, otherwise easily very near mint. CD-106 - McLaughlin Sold For: $715 Color: Bright apple green with 7up green swirls.
| Absolutely hands down the most gorgeous and interesting CD 106 McLaughlin we have ever seen. The color is an overall glowing shade of bright apple green, but back lighting presents a wonderland of deeper, nearly 7up green swirls and patches of nearly clear glass. A tough one to capture properly in a photo, as there is so much going on with the swirls and layering of colors. This will be a standout item for any general color collection, as well as a top shelf addition for the McLaughlin or CD 106 specialist. |
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-106 - HEMINGRAY / No 9 Sold For: $22 Color: Milky Aqua
| Hard to see 3/4" bruise in front on the upper wire ridge, otherwise very, very near mint. Heavy but pronounced milky swirls can be seen from every angle. CD-106 - ZICME {Colombia} Sold For: $99 Color: Icy Sage Green
| Base flake affects 2 drip points, otherwise very, very near mint. When the first group of ZICME's came out of Colombia, the CD 106 ZICME was elusive. Later (c. 2008), another larger group of ZICME's was "liberated" from Colombia, and the vast majority were CD 154's. Today, the CD 154's are relatively common, even in some of the exotic colors, but the CD 106 ZICME still remains as elusive as ever. A similar example recently sold for nearly $250. Now's the time to add this rarity to your collection of foreign insulators! |

CD-106 - HEMINGRAY / No 9 Sold For: $121 Color: Milky Fizzy Hemingray Blue
| One chipped drip point and a 1/2" flake on the inside of the skirt that affects one drip, otherwise about very, very near mint. Early "prism" style embossing. Perhaps some would call this Jade Blue, but because one can see distinct milky swirls, we'll call it "Milky Hemingray Blue". Some of these ponies get their character solely from being filled with bubbles, but this has the best of both worlds: milk AND bubbles! |

CD-106 - PATENT / MAY 2 Sold For: $39 Color: Aqua
| Very near mint. An interesting embossing variation produced by Hemingray: one side has no embossing where the HEMINGRAY / No 9 should be! One could speculate that they were sloppy and forgot to stamp half of the embossing; however, another theory is that one side of the mold became damaged and they needed to swap it out as quickly as possible so as not to hold up production. Whatever the reason, it's an uncommon variation and easy to overlook, so add this sleeper to your collection now! |
