 | An attractive old pony leaning toward Light Green. Note that this is the interesting "smooth base" (SB) with "mold line over base" {MLOB}, a variation not found on many Hemingray pieces. A little flaking on the sharp inner edge of the skirt, typical of these MLOB examples, otherwise about very near mint. Some neat creases and folds can be seen, especially on the front skirt. |

CD-120 - BROOKE'S Sold For: $143 Color: "Brooke's Blue"
 | A "Brooke's Blue" wannabe! Although they are both considered CD 120, this shape is significantly different from the CD 120 PONY in lot 35. A few little flakes and dings in the wire ridges, 1 1/2" chip/flake and associated 1/2" bruise near the left mold line, a flake removes most of the "A" in "PAT". There's an unusual dent on the dome. The patent date references Homer Brooke's patent for a press to form threads. There are a variety of CD 120 "pony" insulators in this auction that can augment your lineup! |

 | A "BROOKE'S" pony in Brooke's Blue! The "AUG 14 1883" date on the rear refers to Homer Brooke's patent for "molding screw forms in plastic material." Crudely molded. A couple of 1/4" bubbles and associated flaking on the base, 1/2" base flake, several other smaller areas of base flaking, a little roughness on the upper wire ridge.  | The CD 120 is likely the scarcest of the set of six styles which are embossed "K.C.G.W." for the King City Glass Works, which operated in Fairmount, Indiana. Factory roughness at the base of the pinhole, 1 1/2" area of minor flaking on the inside of the skirt in the rear, otherwise easily very near mint. The CD 120s don't commonly come up for sale, so now is your chance to fill that hole in your lineup! |

There is no hard evidence tying this to the Wormser Glass Company; however, collectors describe it that way to differentiate it from the unembossed C.E.W. examples.  | Very near mint. A bold protruding dot is on both sides of the mold. Manufactured by the King City Glass Works. K.C.G.W. also produced unembossed CD 134 insulators; see lot 63. This is probably the most desirable of the six CDs embossed "K.C.G.W." and the most difficult to acquire. This has been reflected in the higher prices that they have been commanding. The CD 120's don't commonly come up for sale, especially in such nice condition, so now is your chance to fill that hole in your line-up! |
