CD-124.3 - DEC. 19 Sold For: $176 Color: Light Green Aqua
This is one of the few Hemingray insulators with a smooth base and the "Mold Line Over the Base" (MLOB). 3/4", 1/2", 1/4" base flakes, otherwise about very near mint. See lot 39 and lot 36, its cousins, for a couple of CD 124.2 examples, and bring home the family!

CD-124.3 - DEC. 19 Sold For: $132 Color: Light Green Aqua
Both CD 124.2 and CD 124.3 have risen significantly in value as collectors recognize the rarity of these styles. A convenient way to differentiate the two CD numbers is that the CD 124.3 has only one ridge. 1 1/2" flake/chip on the rear base, 3/8" by 1" sliver on the front skirt, a fracture around the top of the pinhole. One of the few styles of insulators produced by Hemingray that have the mold line around the base "SB" as well as the mold line across the base "MLOB". Pair this with the CD 124.2 in lot 47 for a classic duo! A very desirable early No 4 Hemingray telegraph style!

CD-124.3 - DEC. 19 Sold For: $209 Color: Light Green Aqua
These old "No 4" styles are getting harder to find and are increasing in value as collectors become more aware of their scarcity! This example has the interesting characteristic of "mold line over base" (MLOB) which is only found on a few Hemingray pieces. For the specialist, this is the one-line embossing on the crown with an "E" on the front skirt. Some flaking and chipping on the base and some scuffing and dings. This unit has led a hard life and we're sure it will enjoy gracing your shelf with its presence!

CD-124.3 - DEC. 19 Sold For: $187 Color: Green Aqua
CD 124.2 and CD 124.3 insulators are uncommon, and collectors are beginning to recognize their scarcity and desirability! This example has the interesting characteristic of "mold line over base" (MLOB) which is only found on a few Hemingray pieces. 1/2" base chip in the rear, otherwise very near mint. The crude orange peel texture on the surface and lots of zigzagging folds in the glass add to its desirability.

CD-124.3 - PATENT - DEC. 19 Sold For: $352 Color: Light Aqua
A 1/2" base bruise towards the right mold line, otherwise excellent condition. A 1/4" overpour creates an extended base and a taller presence. These classic early telegraph styles have seen a huge surge in popularity in the past several years and nice examples are getting very hard to find. Snag this one before it gets away!

CD-124.3 - PATENT DEC. 19 Sold For: $528 Color: Lime Green
[040] {Note 'E' is missing middle bar} 1/4" wire ridge flake to the left of center, otherwise about very near mint. This old telegraph style was produced by Hemingray. They made several "Number 4" styles over the years, including CD 124.1, 124.2, 124.3 and 124. These are gaining in popularity and this is an especially nice example, both because of the unusual color and the interesting embossing error. If you are going to get one, why not go for this?

CD-124.3 - Dec 1871 Sold For: $990 Color: Green aqua.
Solid dome glass, with very low threads, indicates an over-abundance of glass was used for the mold pour of this early Hemingray pony. These over-poured examples tend to see greater interest from collectors. The crude, rippled texture of the glass adds even more desirability. This added character will surely make it a standout in any lineup of 124.3's. View 3 is provided with added direct lighting to better showcase the crude surface. (From the Sandra Drummond collection.)

CD-124.3 - PATENT DEC. 19 Sold For: $605 Color: Dark Aqua
Two 1/4" wire ridge flakes, otherwise very good for this old style insulator. Hemingray produced four variants of the original number 4 style: CD 124, 124.1, 124.2 and 124.3. Low threads, almost to the base, make for some great dome glass! These early 1871's have seen increased interest among collectors and this may easily surpass the estimate.

CD-124.3 - PATENT DEC. 19 Sold For: $154 Color: Light Green
Wonderful condition for these old pieces. This is a crude early Hemingray No 4 style. There has been increased interest in collecting early threaded telegraph insulators, and since this color is less common than the typical aqua units, it makes a great example of this early variant (#0985)
