CD-126.4 - W.E.MFG.CO.       Sold For: $484       Color: Cornflower Blue
This is quite an attractive coloration! It was produced by the Hemingray Glass Company for the Western Electric Manufacturing Company of Chicago, which was formed in the early 1870's and supplied electrical equipment. There is an annealing fracture running from the middle of the front down to the base in the rear, and a 1" annealing fracture under the front bottom wire ridge. A hard-to-find color in this style!

CD-126.4 - W.E. Mfg Light Green w/ Milk       Sold For: $55
CD 126.4 W.E. Mfg. (020) Light Green with Milk. This is the embossing style where PATENT APPLIED FOR was embossed over the 1871 patent date. I wonder why they did that?

CD-126.4 - W.E.MFG.CO.       Sold For: $264       Color: Green EIN: [040]
Produced by Hemingray for the Western Electric Manufacturing Company, which supplied equipment to the Western Union Telegraph Company. Both sets of initials are boldly embossed on the insulator. For the specialist there is a "B" on the rear skirt. 1/4" wire ridge flake, 1/8" wire ridge flake, otherwise very near mint. These typically have a very crude and wavy base. This one is very well formed and rests nearly level. A really good example of this older Western Union style!

CD-126.4 - W.E.MFG.CO.       Sold For: $853       Color: Cornflower Blue EIN: [040]
A nice, rich shade of Cornflower Blue! Some examples tend to be washed out, but this is a very strong color for the CD 126.4 units. 1/4" flake/bruise, otherwise very near mint. The extra dome glass highlights the deep color, and this will be a striking addition to your lineup!

CD-126.4 - AM.INSULATOR CO.       Sold For: $165       Color: Light Blue w/ Milky Dome EIN: [030]
The large glob of milk in the dome wraps around and cascades down to the skirt. 1/4" base flake, otherwise very, very near mint. This base-embossed American is less common than the typical W.E.MFG. examples and the milk makes it an especially welcome addition to your collection!

Produced for the Western Electric Manufacturing Company. Crudely made with nice milk worms and globs, especially prominent in the rear. A couple of 1/8" base flakes and several imperfections here and there. This is one of the early Western Union styles produced by Hemingray, and what character!

CD-126.4 - W.E.MFG.CO.       Sold For: $578       Color: Icy Lemon Lime Green
These typically come in shades of aqua. This is quite an odd color with both lemon and lime tinting. A couple of factory open bubbles but no associated chipping. Could this be a sleeper?

Some chatter along the base of the skirt. One of the Western Union styles produced by Hemingray for the Western Electric Manufacturing Company. There's a big 1" bubble below the wire groove that makes this insulator a must-have for the specialty collector.

CD-126.4 - W.E. MFG. CO.       Sold For: $66       Color: Apple Green w/ Milk Swirls
A crude piece with the typical light flaking at the base. It is interesting to note that the "PATENT APPLIED FOR" is embossed over Hemingray's "PATENT DEC 19, 1871". The "W. U." embossed on the rear indicates this piece was to be used on Western Union lines, and the "W.E. MFG. CO." shows it was manufactured by Hemingray for the Western Electric Manufacturing Company. The distinct glob of milk in the front, with strands that wind up over the dome and around the pinhole, gives this early insulator the sort of character that collectors look for! (#0110)

CD-126.4 - W.E.MFG.CO.       Sold For: $352       Color: "Cornflower Blue"
Three base flakes, otherwise very good condition. This was likely used as a "chair leg" insulator as evidenced by the wear on the dome. A huge 1 1/2" bubble floats right in the front! A colorful CD 126.4 for sure! (#2396)
