CD-131.4 - L.G.T.& CO.       Sold For: $198       Color: Light Aqua
This early telegraph style was produced for the telegraph and railway supply company of L.G. Tillotson. Fine scuffing on the dome, some dings and flakes here and there. The CD 131.4 insulators were most likely produced in the 1870-1875 time frame. This example is embossed with patents issued to Homer Brooke and Louis A. Cauvet.

CD-131.4 - DEC. 19       Sold For: $165       Color: Light Blue Aqua
This is one of the four known mold styles for this insulator, as uniquely identified by the chunks of mold which are missing from the upper wire ridge in the front and rear. A nice milk worm winds around the front of the skirt and zigzags up and down on the rear skirt. Strong embossing with well-pronounced mold lines. 3/4" skirt bruise, 1/2" skirt flake, otherwise about very near mint. A nice, old classic Hemingray telegraph style!

CD-131.4 - PATENT DEC. 19       Sold For: $352       Color: Green
Yup, Green! An early Hemingray embossed piece in outstanding condition with none of the typical heavy base flaking. See lot 42 for what might be his older brother. Number 1 style for this early telegraph piece.

CD-131.4 - {Unembossed}       Sold For: $105       Color: Deep Blue Aqua
A 2" area of base chipping, 1/2" base flake. This older threaded insulator was made from a three-part mold with the mold line around the upper crown. This indicates it is very likely a Hemingray product. Great early telegraph insulator!

CD-131.4 - {Unembossed Hemingray}       Sold For: $77       Color: Sage Green
2" area of base chipping in the rear and some flakes and dings scattered around. The distinctive three-piece "button" mold (where the mold line encircles the dome), the off-center pinhole, and the plunger mark at the top of the pinhole indicate that this piece was made by Hemingray. It was most likely produced in the late 1860s. (#2515)

CD-131.4 - L.G.T. & CO.       Sold For: $165       Color: Rich Light Aqua
Excellent condition; clean and sparkling! This early threaded telegraph style was produced for the telegraph and railway supply house operated by L.G. Tillotson Company, whose name was also embossed on six threadless styles. The CD 131.4s were most likely produced in the 1870-1875 time frame. This example is embossed with the patents of Homer Brooke and Louis A. Cauvet. (#2511)

CD-131.4 - {Unembossed Hemingray}       Sold For: $61       Color: Light Green
3" area of base chipping. The surface is hazy and there are some fisheyes, perhaps indicating the insulator had been buried. The three-piece "button top" mold and the impression at the top of the pinhole indicate that this early threaded insulator is of Hemingray manufacture and most likely predates the December 19, 1871 patent. It will appeal to both Hemingray and early telegraph collectors! (#2513)
