CD-132 - DEC. 19 Sold For: $198 Color: Sagey Aqua w/ Milk Ribbons
Loop-de-loops of wide ribbons dance all the way around the skirt. Be sure to look at all four views! Some dings on the dome, 1/4" by 1" area of small BB dings near the left mold line on the rear. An eye-catching example of this old Hemingray telegraph style!

CD-132 - DEC. 19 Sold For: $396 Color: Green Aqua w/ Bubbles and Junk
Crude and junky! Filled with medium-sized bubbles, some 1/4" size bubbles, some "algae"-like impurities. All the junk in the glass gives this piece a translucent appearance. To top it off, this is the less common one-line embossing! 1/2" base flake, 1/4" skirt flake, a little roughness on the dome, otherwise very near mint. What a fantastic example of this number "2" style!

CD-132 - DEC. 19 Sold For: $715 Color: Fizzy Gray Blue
Most of these bullets are quite crude, but some are very well made. This is one of the latter, with smooth, shiny glass. For the specialist, this is the embossing with the "-" (dash) between "DEC.19" and "1871". A couple of small areas of flaking on the base which are typical of this style. [UPDATE: These can be seen in view 3. There are a couple of typical factory annealing lines, one of which can be seen on the front right side.] The well-formed glass, interesting color, fizz, and condition make this a keeper for sure!

CD-132 - DEC. 19 Sold For: $61 Color: Aqua w/ Milk Ribbon
A milk ribbon starts in the rear skirt, goes up to the top of the pinhole, and down to the wire groove in the front. A few little dings and scuffs here and there. A nice old bullet with character!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-132 - PATENT DEC. 19 Sold For: $55 Color: Limey Green Aqua EIN: [040]
Crudely molded with an interesting "orange peel" texture on most of the insulator. Bruising on half of the skirt, all in the rear, and several 1/2" base flakes. Some milk is present, adding additional character. Displays great from the front!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-132 - PAT APP FOR Sold For: $528 Color: Dark Blue Aqua EIN: [010]
A big brute of an early and uncommon insulator! The glass is "gunky" and you can see some distinctive milk swirls as well as some amber, especially at the top of the pinhole. 1 1/2" area of flaking on the front left, 1/4" open bubble, and some small pings and scuffing all over, typical of an item that may have been dug. The pinhole is so small it doesn't even begin to thread onto a standard pin! What an interesting example!

Catchy near clear color! You can see a fold and a closed bubble on the rear. Another clean and shiny "bullet."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-132 - PATENT DEC. 19 Sold For: $2,750 Color: "Purple"
A little darker than Light Purple and a little lighter than Purple. You decide! Might have been dug with some of the associated little scuffs and a few dings. A great companion for lot 46 and others in this auction. No chips or flakes, even on the base. A rare jewel for your collection! UPDATE: 9/12 View 3 shows an area of scuffing and a few dings. This is probably the worst spot on the insulator and probably accounts for 75% of the fish eyes. You can also see some very subtle, very fine scuffing on the wire ridge.

CD-132 - PATENT DEC. 19 Sold For: $297 Color: Light Gray Blue

A classic old "bullet style" telegraph insulator for you to add to your collection! |

CD-132 - PAT.APP.FOR Sold For: $418 Color: Bright Brooke's Blue
This insulator was crudely made, with thick glass that intensifies the stunning color of the insulator. Several small dings here and there, 1" skirt stress line. The "PAT.APP.FOR" embossing on the No 2 "bullet" style is relatively scarce. Heavy folds in the glass and a variety of impurities make this an opportunity not to be missed!

Strong bold embossing on both of these early telegraph insulators by Hemingray. Nice color contrast for this pair of old "Bullets!" |

CD-132 - PATENT DEC. 19 Sold For: $88 Color: Blue Spruce Sage
Quarter-sized crown slice/bruise and dime-sized bruise, both to the rear of the mold line. Bold, strong embossing, with a very ornately embossed "2" on the rear crown that is nearly 1/2" tall. Excellent clarity to the glass. A very unique color that we don't recall ever seeing. Without the damage, we could easily see this insulator bringing two to three times our estimate! (#2544)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-132 - PATENT DEC. 19 Sold For: $176 Color: Bright Lime Green
Fantastic, very very near mint condition! Many of these are found with crude and misshapen bases. This one is very precisely formed, and the embossing is very strong and pronounced. The abundance of fizzy bubbles really enhances the presentation of this piece, making it especially attractive to Hemingray and early telegraph collectors! (#2538)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-132 - PAT APP FOR Sold For: $462 Color: Deep Brooke’s Blue
Potstone bruise on the upper wire ridge and a 1/4" crown bruise. The base shows a little wear from rubbing. These insulators are hard to find, so a crude piece such as this one, with heavy folds in the glass, swirls of bubbles, and both amber and milk, is an opportunity not to be missed! (#2521)
