CD-132.4 - PATENT DEC 19 Sold For: $633 Color: Aqua
| Nicknamed the "Chambers Companion". Typical small flaking around the flange and a slice on the flange on either side of the riser. Conventional wisdom says that this was made from a modified CD 132 mold; however, all the CD 132's are embossed with a "2" on the rear crown and this has no embossing there. The Hemingray variant of the CD 133 has nearly straight sides to the dome, as does this insulator, and one of the known embossings has no style number on the back. One could do an interesting study trying to match the dome of this piece with the dome of a CD 133. This "riser" insulator was used with the "Candlestick" (CD 317, as shown in lot 160) and they will go well together in your collection! |

CD-132.4 - PATENT - DEC. 19 Sold For: $908 Color: Fizzy "Limey" Green (previously "Fizzy Lime Green")
| Please read our discussion of the color green. The piece is in great shape and we have not seen a "fizzy" one like this so we are not adjusting the estimate. The CD 132.4 and CD 317 form the Chambers lightning rod system. Known as the "Chambers' Companion," the CD 132.4 was produced from a modified CD 132 mold. 1/2" flat chip and a little flaking on the flange. The riser groove is often heavily damaged, and this one is in outstanding condition, as can be seen in view 3. Adding to the insulator's desirability, the piece is filled with microbubble "fizz", giving it a somewhat translucent appearance. The December 19, 1871 patent date indicates the insulator was produced by the Hemingray Glass Company. A nice "companion" piece to lot 191 and lot 190. Considering color and condition, this has to be one of the best ones around! |

CD-132.4 - PATENT DEC. 19 Sold For: $880 Color: Dark Aqua
| The notch and flange on these are often heavily damaged; this one just has some minor flaking on either side of the notch. The areas on the left side of the outer edge of the flange as shown in view 3 are an open bubble on the base and a second open bubble on the top of the flange. There is no chipping or flaking associated with these bubbles. Wonderful condition! These, along with the CD 317, form the Chambers lightning rod system. A nice "companion" piece to lot 171! CD-132.4 - PATENT DEC. 19 Sold For: $418 Color: Light Green Aqua
| Some chipping on the base of the flange and by the riser, but still overall in nice condition for one of these Chambers "companion" insulators. A good, contrasting "companion" piece to lot 172! (#2557) |
