CD-133 - ER / Brookfield / Cauvet's 1865 Light Aqua Sold For: $40
CD 133 ER / Brookfield / Cauvet's / 1865 Dated (200) Light Aqua. This early insulator was made for the Erie Railroad. It has Cauvet's 1865 patent date for internal threads on the reverse dome. Exceptionally clean insulator for its age. A small area of wear on the wire ridge tells me it has NOT been tumbled, or that would be gone. The embossing is on the weak side with the 1870 date on the rear skirt almost unnoticeable.

CD-133 - DEC. 19 Sold For: $1,815 Color: Dark Green
Here's one for the "1871" specialist! Over the years, it has always been assumed that if the insulator had a "2" on the rear crown it was a CD 132, and if it had a "3", it was a CD 133. There is one exception to the latter with the CD 133 [010] having no style number. Some people would say that if you held a ruler up to the crown of some CD 132s you could see just a little light under the ruler, making the dome concave, and thus a CD 133. This was not widely accepted in the hobby, which still maintained that all style number "2s" were CD 132. On this piece, the dome is clearly quite concave. However, this one has the style number "2" on the rear! CD 132? No, given the shape, this is clearly a CD 133, an early piece in the evolution of this style, and it garnered a new EIN listing [015] in the 2023 Price Guide. There are probably other examples out there like this. That aside, it's also a beautiful Dark Green color with a bit

CD-133 - DEC. 19 Sold For: $72 Color: Aqua w/ Milky Swirls EIN: [020]
Thick milky swirls, especially in the skirt! This example has the crude base which is typical for these older Hemingray styles, otherwise the insulator is easily very near mint. It is distinguished from Hemingray's CD 133.4 by the sides of the dome, which are concave. An old Hemingray classic with class!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-133 - CITY FIRE ALARM Sold For: $143 Color: Light Aqua EIN: [010]
| Always popular! Some factory tong marks on the dome, otherwise very near mint. CD-133 - {Unembossed} {Canada} Sold For: $66 Color: Fizzy Light Green EIN: [010]
Look at that dome! This is the Canadian variant, with the "tall narrow dome", plus it's also a leaner! The tall dome creates some extra space above the pinhole, where some fizzy glass can be seen. Three 1/4" base flakes, otherwise very near mint. A nice variant in your CD 133 collection!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-133 - H.G.CO. Sold For: $154 Color: Bright Lime Green w/ Milk Ribbon EIN: [070]
The lack of milk in this example actually works in its favor, as you can see the brighter glowing color of the glass. If you want some milk, there is a ribbon running around part of the skirt up to the pinhole. In some light, the insulator almost looks Depression Green. Perfect drip points and outstanding condition make this a keeper!
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

CD-133 - BROOKFIELD Sold For: $94 Color: Rich Apple Green EIN: [180]
Good clarity to the glass, especially in the dome where you can see the rich coloration! Two 1/8" wire ridge flakes, otherwise easily very near mint. View 3 contrast this lot (shown on the left) with the Chartreuse example in lot 54. Bold embossing and a beauty!

Contrast this lot on the left with lot 55 on the right in View 3. Quite a standout color when compared with the other shades of green! |
---------------------------------------------------------------------------

Although the same height, it's nearly 1/4" smaller in diameter and the skirt is thinner. A fabulous and desirable color! (#0420) |

CD-133 - CITY FIRE ALARM Sold For: $264 Color: Light Blue Aqua
Easily grades very near mint. These insulators were manufactured by Brookfield on special order for the city of Fall River, Massachusetts to identify the municipal fire alarm circuits. Here's your chance to acquire an insulator that was only used in a very limited location! See lot 40 for the Fall River Police Signal. (#0399)

CD-133 - B.G.M. CO. Sold For: $121 Color: Light Pinkish Purple
3 small base flakes, otherwise about perfect! This is a product of the Baltimore Glass Manufacturing Company, which was formed in 1896 and is believed to have last manufactured insulators in 1903, ceasing production either due to a patent infringement order or simply the threat of one. This example, in such a pleasing color, is clean and shiny! (#2560)

CD-133 - {Unembossed} Sold For: $88 Color: Light Limey Green
Great condition, with a neat 1/2" graphite bubble right in the front! Clean and shiny! (#2766)

CD-133 - CITY FIRE ALARM Sold For: $187 Color: Light Blue Aqua
Base flake and a little roughness at the base of the threads, otherwise great condition! These insulators were manufactured by Brookfield on special order for the city of Fall River, Massachusetts to identify the municipal fire alarm circuits. (#0920)

CD-133 - BROOKFIELD Sold For: $743 Color: Purple
Skirt and base flake, moderate base damage and a deep quarter-sized slice. Purple is a very rare color for this insulator and this one is a nice strong shade! (#2601)

CD-133 - BROOKFIELD Sold For: $1,100 Color: Aqua w/ HUGE Bubbles
Overall very good condition. What is outstanding about this insulator is, of course, the presence of four large bubbles, all in the same area of the glass! The largest is 3" wide and over an inch tall! Amazingly, none of the bubbles are open to the threads or to the outside. A great character piece! (#2611)

CD-133 - H.G.CO. // STANDARD Sold For: $132 Color: Brilliant, Glowing Lime Green
Just two chipped drips and the rest is just about perfect. An outstanding, glowing color that many might call Depression Glass Green, but we'll be conservative with our color characterization. The absence of typical milk swirling in this insulator really highlights the color and clarity of the glass! (#2745)

CD-133 - H.G.CO. Sold For: $121 Color: Lime Green w/ Pronounced Milky Swirls
Just two flaked drips away from mint! This is the one with the embossing error in 1893. Heavy snot-swirling is very pronounced in the front skirt and up into the dome. (#2752)

CD-133 - CITY FIRE ALARM Sold For: $352 Color: Bright Blue
About VVNM. This early New England insulator probably came off a fire alarm system in the Boston area. The extra dome glass enhances the color and appeal of this pretty pastel piece! (#2722)

CD-133 - BROOKFIELD {Crown embossed} Sold For: $231 Color: Glowing Yellow Green
VVNM. An olive stringer and some frothy bubbles, both in the front, add a lot of character to this bright-colored early CREB. (#2655)

CD-133 - B.G.M. Sold For: $165 Color: Light Purple
Excellent condition! This piece is sort of a Light Purple/Purple two tone, being lighter below the wire groove and darker above! A very pretty insulator! (#2559)

CD-133 - H.G.CO. Sold For: $6,050 Color: Glowing Orange Amber
Roughness on dome, perhaps a little wear from being a chair leg insulator; otherwise nearly perfect. NEW: We have done some comparison with another CD 133 HG SB and our best estimate is that the peak of the dome is worn down perhaps 1/16" inch. These do tend to have a fairly "flat topped" dome anyway. Use the picture as a good guide. Very little is actually worn off. An incredibly outstanding, awesome piece! (#2734)
