CD-149 - BROOKFIELD       Sold For: $209       Color: Light Green Aqua EIN: [010]
This is the "BROOKFIELD" embossed "Burbrook" insulator in the less common coloration! 1/2" inner skirt chip, 1/2" base flake, otherwise about very near mint. This lighter variation will contrast very well with lot 80. The 1907 Stuart-Howland Catalogue calls this insulator the "'Burbrook' Extra Deep Groove Double Petticoat." The deep groove indicates these might have been used on insulated low or medium voltage electric lines. The origin of this name, whether person or place, is unknown. A nice addition to your collection!

CD-149 - BROOKFIELD       Sold For: $143       Color: Deep Aqua EIN: [010]
The 1907 Stuart-Howland Catalogue calls this insulator the "'Burbrook' Extra Deep Groove Double Petticoat." These might have been used on insulated low or medium voltage electric lines. An overpour creates an unusually low pinhole, revealing nice dome glass and an inner skirt extended below the outer skirt. These Brookfield-embossed units are far rarer than the unembossed examples. 3/4" base chip, otherwise easily very near mint. Contrasts well with the lighter example in lot 81. The clarity to the glass and the overpour make this example special!

CD-149 - Burbrook       Sold For: $61       Color: Aqua
Several flakes on the wire ridges and base, several dings here and there. Offered with the trade name "Burbrook" in supply catalogs in the early 1900's, the deep groove indicates these might have been used on insulated low or medium voltage electric lines. In any case, it's a unique style for sure!

CD-149 - Burbrook       Sold For: $99       Color: Aqua w/ Amber Swirls
Some typical chatter around the sharp upper wire ridge in the rear. This interesting "pointed bullet" insulator is designated the "Burbrook" Extra Deep Groove Double Petticoat in the 1907 Stuart-Howland Catalogue. This is an unusual variant, where the insulator is 1/2" taller than the typical CD 149, such as the Brookfield embossed variant shown in lot 92. It appears the manufacturer may have put a 1/2" skirt extension on the bottom to make the piece taller. This could be an uncommon variant worth a premium over the standard-sized piece. An interesting item for sure!

CD-149 - BROOKFIELD       Sold For: $286       Color: Rich Deep Aqua
The sharp upper wire ridge is prone to damage; this example has only a couple of 3/8" flakes, otherwise about very near mint. These are much harder to find than their unembossed counterparts, one of which you can see in lot 93. The 1907 Stuart-Howland Catalogue calls this insulator the "Burbrook" Extra Deep Groove Double Petticoat. The origin of this name, whether person or place, is unknown, but it's hard to find one in better condition, so add this "Burbrook" to your collection!
