CD-158.1 - CHESTER       Sold For: $3,960       Color: Bright Blue
Factory annealing fissure in the skirt, a few little dings. Great condition! This rarely encountered insulator appears to have been made for the Chesters by the Boston Bottle Works. The firm of Charles T. & John N. Chester, in 1855, continued the business established by Mr. John W. Norton who, in the early days of the telegraph, was largely engaged in the manufacture and sale of telegraph instruments and supplies. The wavy wire groove and three notches on the dome were designed to be used with a metal ring. (#5247)
