Bill & Jill Insulators - Next Auction: Coming Soon |
U-183 - PAT. AUG. 3 1909 Sold For: $715 Color: Mottled Tan
| 1/2" flake on the inside of the outer skirt which is not visible from the outside. Other than a thin 1/4" flake on one of the "turrets", they are in great shape. The date August 3, 1909 refers to the patent of Joseph W. Ranson of Batavia, OH, for a style of "no-tie" insulator. Most examples of U-183 appear to be in shades of basic brown, and those units have sold in the $300-$600 range. This example has an attractive, mottled butterscotch and tan coloration with darker highlights, making it worth a premium. These rarely come up for sale! |
