| This beautiful insulator in beautiful Hemingray Blue has that signature "fizz"! Many of these have some base damage, as does this example. Several areas of bruising affect the drip points, although only one of them removes a small flake from the outer skirt. Two bruises are about 3/4", two others are about 1 1/2", the rest of the drip points seem to be in great condition. Most of these were found in Tennessee, as was this one. This is the largest of the three sizes that Hemingray produced in this series, which also includes CD 241 and CD 242. The style number 88 indicated that it was designed to be used from 8,800 to 15,000 volts. This insulator is rarely offered for sale and its bright Hemingray Blue color will sparkle on your shelf! |
