CD-254 - HEMINGRAY Sold For: $484 Color: Hemingray Blue
 | This is the very rare "No 63 CABLE" embossing variant! It is also the only CD 254 embossing with "MADE IN U.S.A." on the front! The later-production CD 254 insulators are embossed "(F-Skirt) HEMINGRAY-63 (R-Skirt) MADE IN U.S.A." One can tell this is sort of a transition piece. as the "MADE IN U.S.A." on the front appears to be the "stamped" embossing style and the "HEMINGRAY" above it appears to be in larger, hand-engraved letters. Also, on the rear, one can see that the "63" style is "stamp-embossed" over the "3". 1/2" flake on the back of the right ear, a little sliver on the back of the left ear, a few chipped drip points, a few dings here and there. The consignor reports that this was used in the U.S. Steel mills in Chicago. The natural patina of the paint from that usage remains on the insulator. This can be removed if desired.  | This insulator was produced for the Mayer & Englund Company. 3/4" skirt chip, moderate chipping on half of the inner skirt, 1/2" ear chip, a few other dings here and there. The low pinhole creates a nice region in the ears where one can see some amber swirling and bubbles, adding a little extra character! An uncommon embossing, rarely offered for sale, so don't miss out! |

CD-254 - CABLE Sold For: $352 Color: Rich Dark Green
 | One could almost call this "Glowing Green" as the color is so bright and well-saturated and the surface of the glass is so clean and smooth! To top it off, bubbles float in the top of the pinhole! 1/2" inner skirt chip, moderate flaking in the rear around half of the sharp edge of the outer skirt which is typical of this style, a few scuffs and dings here and there. When you pick this insulator up in your hands or see it in the lightbox, you will just say "WOW" about the color and the smooth glass. Certainly worth a premium! |

CD-254 - CABLE Sold For: $396 Color: Aqua w/ Amber Ribbons
 | Occasionally you will find a CD 254 Cable with some amber in it, but this is "over the top" (literally!) with its amber ribbons and streaks and easily fits into the "WOW" classification! Heavy, thick glass over the pinhole adds to the presentation. A couple of 1/4" flakes on the inside of the skirt, 1/4" inner skirt chip, factory potstone. Minor condition issues considering the size of this piece. The amber really shows well in both front and rear. These heavily streaked items often soar in value, but we'll start with a conservative estimate. Add some class to your glass! |
