CD-256 - MANHATTAN Sold For: $105 Color: Blue
This insulator was crudely made with a nice "Whittle mold" texture. 1/4" base flake, otherwise very near mint. The Manhattan Electrical Supply Co. sold these insulators, and there is a great deal of speculation as to who made them. The design appears in catalogs of the C. S. Knowles Company. This example contrasts well with the green units which were also embossed "MANHATTAN."

CD-256 - MANHATTAN Sold For: $330 Color: Blue w/ Amber Swirls
First, the blue color catches your eye, and then you are immediately attracted to the amber swirls all around and up over the pinhole on both sides! This tall variant has a 3/8" skirt extension, making it 4 1/4" tall. It is shown as alternate drawing "A" in the Price Guide. The Manhattan Electrical Supply Co. sold these insulators, and there is a great deal of speculation as to who made them. The condition is outstanding and, when you add in the attractive coloration, you have a keeper for sure!

CD-256 - MANHATTAN Sold For: $143 Color: Yellow Green EIN: [025]
An attractive color, especially for a power piece! Some amber tones can be seen in the skirt, however they are most distinct in the thick ear glass. 2" bruise and associated flake on the rear skirt, otherwise very, very near mint. The Manhattan Electrical Supply Co. sold these insulators, and there is a great deal of speculation as to who made them. Manhattan insulators are often found in aqua and blue, so the green shades, especially with amber highlights, really stand out and make this a welcome addition to your power collection!
