CD-259 - OAKMAN MFG.CO.       Sold For: $83       Color: Light Aqua
Although this insulator is embossed "CABLE" on the front, it does have Samuel Oakman's name and a couple of his patent dates embossed on the base. The June 17, 1890 date refers to the "ears" and the August 19, 1890 date is for the ridges around inner surface of skirt. A small open bubble and associated flake on the base affect two digits in one of the patent dates, otherwise very near mint. An attractive "helmet" for your collection!

CD-259 - OAKMAN MFG.CO.       Sold For: $110       Color: Blue Aqua
An attractive base-embossed cable style! The embossing on the base includes Oakman's patent of June 17, 1890 for dove-tail projections on the crown that today we call "ears". A nice example, especially in very near mint condition.

CD-259 - CABLE       Sold For: $61       Color: Blue Aqua
Patented by Samuel Oakman in 1890, this style was developed to hold a heavy cable or to change direction on a high voltage line. Brookfield produced many CD 259 insulators that were embossed with the single word "CABLE" for electrical supply companies to sell to the utilities. Paper-thin 3/4" x 1/8" flake on the rear skirt, some scuffs and dings here and there. The classic "Roman Helmet" style!

CD-259 - CABLE       Sold For: $55       Color: Bright Green EIN: [020]
These "helmets" are usually found in shades of aqua; they look so plain compared with this insulator! A fracture on the right side at the base of the pinhole radiating outward with an arc of 2". This does not reach the surface of the glass and is very difficult to see. Otherwise the piece is about very near mint. A great color!

CD-259 - CABLE       Sold For: $132       Color: Deep Rich Aqua
Very near mint. It is interesting that the CABLE embossing is off-centered from the saddle groove. The "Roman Helmet" style, patented by Samuel Oakman in 1890, was developed to hold a heavy cable or to change direction on a high voltage line. Brookfield produced many CABLE embossed 259's for electrical supply companies to sell to the utilties. A beautiful insulator!

CD-259 - OAKMAN // CABLE       Sold For: $44       Color: Light Green Aqua
Two 1/4" bruises on the flange, otherwise about very near mint. A factory annealing line can be seen in the front. The threads go nearly to the top of the saddle groove, creating a 1/4" high "inner skirt". This Oakman helmet has the classic base embossing, and its coloration falls somewhere between light aqua and light green. (#0398)
