This hunk of glass is nicknamed the "Fishbowl" because of the thickness and the massive amount of glass! 1/4" ding on the skirt, 1/4" flake and 1/4" scuff on the ear, 1 1/2" by 1" chip on the left rear skirt. Cable marks in the saddle groove show years of service holding up cables on Boston's now-demolished elevated "Orange Line." An impressive insulator for any collection!

This is a stunning Emerald Green insulator, produced by the New England Glass Manufacturing Company and nicknamed the "Fishbowl" for its shape and its large volume of glass! These units were used only on Boston's old elevated "Orange Line." In great condition with the exception of a fracture that runs from the saddle groove around the left of the front ear to the right mold line. The "Fishbowl" is always a popular style, especially desirable in Emerald Green. Own a piece of Boston history!

The underpoured ears and the slightly slumped sides give this a bit of a "chubby" appearance compared to a standard example. To add interest, there is some amber in the ears, a milk streak across the middle of the skirt, and a few bubbles. A factory molding mark about 1/2" wide and 2" tall on the front, otherwise very near mint. A big hunk of glass that is a welcome addition to your collection!

Excellent condition. One ear is underpoured and is twisted and distorted, creating a very odd appearance. The pinhole is off center and oval shaped! The thick glass for this "fish bowl" has an unusual clarity, showing off the almost "glowing" color. See lot 138 for an Emerald Green example. A large and impressive power piece used exclusively on the former MBTA "Orange Line." A great piece with plenty of character!

1" bruise on the front skirt, 1/8" ding, otherwise very near mint. For completeness, there are factory open bubbles on the outer skirt and inner skirt. This popular insulator is nicknamed the "fish bowl" due to the tall, cylindrical shape. One can even see a 2" long "worm" swimming in the glass! See lot 137 for an example in Rich Blue Aqua. A great piece of glass in an eye-catching color!

Excellent condition with just minor flaking at the base. The deep saddle groove has angled wear marks from decades of supporting heavy cables, adding character and provenance. From the N.E.G.M. side, one can see a 1/2" pollywog in the saddle, and from the rear, one can see a 1/4" milky "tapeworm" spiraling around the pinhole and over the top! Another great piece of Boston's hostory! (#0158)
