CD-287.2 - BROOKFIELD Sold For: $418 Color: Light Aqua
| The Brookfield Glass Company produced this early and uncommon "mold line over the dome" power insulator for Fred Locke. 1" inner skirt chip, two 3/4" middle skirt chips, 1/4" flake on the wire ridge, the mold line on the base has some high-point wear. CD-287.2 - LOCKE Sold For: $3,410 Color: Light Sage Gray
| This is quite a rare insulator! The "BROOKFIELD" embossing itself is uncommon, but we understand there are only 3 or 4 known with the "LOCKE" embossing! While the dome and overall height are the same as the CD 287.1, this style is 5/8" smaller in diameter. The insulator has only been found in this icy gray coloration. The embossing style is the same as the embossing style on the CD 287.1 Lockes, and these are attributed to Hemingray, as is this example. 1 1/4" chip/bruise on the upper wire ridge in front, 1" chip on the upper wire ridge in rear, 1/4" inner skirt flake, 1/8" ding on the skirt, otherwise very near mint. This is a key piece for the advanced Hemingray collector. Buy it now, as you may never see another example for sale! |
