CD-36 - E.S.B. Blue       Sold For: $120

CD 36 E.S.B. CO. (005 Variant). The item number under the crown appears to have been blotted out. If so, that's an unlisted EIN. There's also a small, natural, indention on the inside of the crown at the top that may be an open bubble. For added character, the rest has some deep straw marks on the sides; and there's some faint amber in the crown.

Very, very near mint. The largest battery rest: 6" in diameter. These were made by the Electric Storage Battery Company. The circular trough was filled with a non-conducting oil and covered with a lead alloy cap. These battery rests were nicknamed "birdfeeder" because of their unique shape. A really neat hunk of glass!
