Bill & Jill Insulators - Next Auction: Coming Soon

CD-680 - T-Bar {Spain}       Sold For: $660       Color: Straw
A fantastic "T-Bar"! Some factory annealing lines, especially in the pinhole. Easily very near mint. The Straw examples are equally as rare as their Red Amber counterparts. We believe there might only be 5-6 known. In October 1997, Marilyn Albers had a sales list with a straw "T-Bar" for a price of $400. Her comment on the sales list was "CD 680's are super rare insulators found only on the Island of Majorca. They are very old but no longer being used, so they have been scrapped and replaced with modern installations." [UPDATE: this is quite a petite insulator. View 3 compares this to CD 102 (left, lot 16) and CD 579.3 (center, lot 186)] This insulator is from a more recent find in Majorca, and it is still a stunning piece of glass!

Bill & Jill Insulators - Next Auction: Coming Soon

CD-680 - T-Bar {Spain}       Sold For: $4,950       Color: Straw
{Unembossed} Minor roughness at the end of the saddle groove, otherwise very, very near mint. Another stunning "T-Bar," equally as rare as its Red Amber counterpart in lot 5! We believe there might only be 5-6 known. In October 1997, Marilyn Albers had a sales list with this specific piece on it, for a price of $400. Her comment on the sales list was "CD 680's are super rare insulators found only on the Island of Majorca. They are very old but no longer being used, so they have been scraped and replaced with modern installations. If you like foreign glass, don't miss the chance to own one of these jewels because you may not see another one for sale. I know what I'm talking about because I was there in '90 and '93 and heard the story firsthand." After 20 years, this piece is being offered for sale again. Being able to display this duo would be the dream of every "foreign" or CD collector!

CD-680 - T-Bar {Spain}       Sold For: $7,700       Color: Dark Red Amber
{Unembossed} 3/8" flake off the top of one ear, otherwise incredible condition! This is likely the first red "T-Bar" that came into the hobby from Spain. We believe there might only be 5-6 known. See its Straw counterpart in lot 4. In October 1997, Marilyn Albers had a sales list selling the straw piece in lot 4 for a price of $400. Her comment on the sales list was "CD 680's are super rare insulators found only on the Island of Majorca. They are very old but no longer being used, so they have been scraped and replaced with modern installations. If you like foreign glass, don't miss the chance to own one of these jewels because you may not see another one for sale. I know what I'm talking about because I was there in '90 and '93 and heard the story firsthand." We believe this applies equally to these Dark Red Amber ones. This could be the "Emminger's" (see lot 1) holy grail for the "foreign" collector. The comb
