CD-742.3 - {Unembossed} {Canada} Sold For: $462 Color: Deep Teal Blue
 | This insulator has such a rich color! There is the typical flaking on the base. The CD 742.3 was often used on early telegraph lines in Canada, and often by the Montreal Telegraph Company. See lot 182 for an example with the "M.T.CO." embossing. The great clarity of the glass amplifies the stunning color! |

CD-742.3 - M.T.CO. Sold For: $1,155 Color: Fizzy Teal Blue
 | An attractive fizzy Teal Blue! This insulator was listed in our previous auction but had a clear coat on it which had yellowed, giving it more of a teal appearance. The insulator was soaked to remove the coating. The coating had hidden some of the haziness, perhaps from being buried, but now it looks very presentable, and more importantly, true to color, with the coating removed. A little base flaking, but not that bad. See lot 181 for an unembossed example of this style. This insulator is boldly embossed "M.T.Co" on the base for the Montreal Telegraph Company. A nice Canadian threadless! |

Price Sold For: Color: Fizzy Teal Blue
 | Extra character with a nice "fizz" of small bubbles throughout the insulator. The insulator has had a clear coat applied. Update: 9/10 Upon some very close inspection we found some additional condition issues. Also, we noticed a few bubbles in the clear coat and we are concerned about its longevity. We feel the best option at this point is to withdraw the lot. |

CD-742.3 - M.T.CO. Sold For: $187 Color: Milky Tealy Aqua
 | A 3" chip on the base has been re-glued and leaves a 1/2" chip still missing; there is a little flaking around the base. Made for the Montreal Telegraph Company. Cottony milk swaths can be seen in the crown flowing down into bands that wind around the skirt. Also of interest is a 3/4" piece of metal, most likely a nail, in the skirt. (#0528) |
